Context

The client, a Chemicals major, had recently launched their Values framework, which had been cascaded to all levels of the organisation. The client aimed to evaluate employees across functions and hierarchies to gauge their understanding and demonstration of these Values.

The client planned to use the Values assessment as a pivotal component of the broader talent assessment and future readiness identification process.

Impact

More than 600 employees underwent the process and received detailed feedback reports.

Post-assessment analysis helped identify specific groups within business units where tailored interventions would be needed to ensure employees consciously demonstrate the expected behaviours.

Approach

BasilTree proposed to have employees across levels and functions take Situational Judgement Tests (‘SJTs’) to assess their understanding and demonstration of the client’s Values. Following this, employees would receive feedback based on their responses to the inventories.

To achieve this, thorough discussions were held with stakeholders across all levels and functions to comprehensively understand the Values framework. These insights were utilised to develop the SJT inventories, ensuring they reflected the client’s unique context and nuances of daily operations. The design process involved close collaboration with the HR team, and the items underwent meticulous reviews by subject-matter experts from the organisation.

Additionally, BasilTree trained the Business HR team to conduct Feedback Report debriefing sessions. This was done with an aim to align employees with the organisation’s expected behaviors.
