Context

The client, one of India’s fastest growing private sector banks, wanted to develop a talent pool that could take on challenging roles in the future and contribute towards the growth of the bank.

The focus of this exercise was first-time people managers (Young Leaders’ Development Programme – ‘YLDP’) and mid-level leaders (Manager Leadership Development Programme – ‘MLDP’).

The plan was to conduct potential assessments for the identified pool of participants, along with 90/360-degree feedback for the YLDP and MLDP participants respectively, and provide them developmental feedback.

Impact

Assessments were conducted for all participants of both programmes (YLDP and MLDP).

Comprehensive talent analytics report shared with the leadership and HR team helped them get a better understanding of the available talent pool and facilitated better talent decisions.

Through this initiative, as a growing organisation, the Bank was able to ensure that it lived up to its EVP of giving opportunities to internal talent, while still ensuring a high-quality future talent pipeline.

Approach

BasilTree helped the client review and finalise the leadership competencies at each level, and used these as the basis for conducting the assessments.

In order get a holistic perspective of potential, the assessments were designed to include a combination of cognitive assessments, personality questionnaire and behavioural simulations. The 90/360-degree questionnaires were designed based on the identified competencies.

At the end of the assessments, feedback was provided to the participants based on all assessment inputs.
