Bhawana Mishra
Bhawana founded BasilTree Consulting with one dream – to create an India born, impact-led, talent and leadership consulting firm that clients love and respect and treat as their own. Besides leading BasilTree, she is an Independent Director on the board of a public company, GMM Pfaudler, and is advisor to many boards, CEOs and business leaders, on aligning people practices with their business strategy.
After her Master’s in Applied Psychology, Bhawana started life in consulting with Price Waterhouse and Arthur Andersen. But post the large firm experience, it was at SHL that she found her mojo. Over 12 years, she grew the nascent business to several hundred clients and helped institutionalise leadership assessments in corporations in India.
Bhawana’s professional passion lies in demonstrating measurable business impact of people processes. But when not thinking of BasilTree, or travelling to a new destination, she has re-discovered her childhood love for sketching, over the backdrop of old Hindi melodies.

We celebrate our differences…
At BasilTree, creating and nurturing a diverse team is effortless. From inclusion in our demographics and more meaningfully, in our beliefs, experiences and thinking, to accepting our differences and building on them, is everyday life at BasilTree. It is who we are. Organisational levels and length of experience does not matter as we encourage every individual to be authentic and contribute to psychological safety.
…and become One when it matters
While we celebrate our differences, we take few things very seriously – our love for food, adventure and free flowing creativity. Personal and professional boundaries merge when it comes to these, and we take pride in our culture of not actively separating work and life in the work-life balance equation. If life only happens outside work, something is not right with work. Equally, if work becomes life, that is worrisome too. This balance is unique to each individual and we strive to help people find what they love and are passionate about, while continuing to grow and develop in other areas.
