Bhawana founded BasilTree Consulting in 2014, with the dream to create a talent and leadership consulting firm with a sharp focus on business impact and outcomes. In her 20 years of consulting in Human Resources, Bhawana has led several enterprise-wide talent initiatives of some of the largest Indian and multi-national corporations.
Prior to founding BasilTree, as Business Director for SHL India (now CEB), she was responsible for national consulting, sales and product operations. She joined SHL soon after its inception in India, and over 12 years, grew the business to several hundred clients and a strong team of business development and consulting professionals. She led multiple initiatives for the company, including the thrust on technology driven products and building the delivery capability to execute large scale talent assessment projects for some of India’s largest companies.
Prior to SHL, Bhawana worked as Senior Consultant with Arthur Andersen and as Consultant in the Human Resources Consulting Group of PwC. In both these roles, she consulted Indian and multinational companies in design of organisation structures, HR processes and specifically, competency based interventions.
Bhawana is credited with having played a significant role in establishing behavioural assessments in India. Her passion lies in working with clients to demonstrate measurable business impact of people processes. She takes pride in bringing to India global practices that are tuned to local cultural and commercial realities. This has resulted in introducing several talent management techniques entirely indigenous to India. She has a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology (with specialization in Organisational Behaviour) from University of Delhi and is certified in a range of psychometric tools and assessment and training processes.
